I know these things aren't your cheapest batterys. Does anybody know where to get one some what cheaper?

Prices are pretty much standard across the board. I guess you try your local newspaper classifieds or craigslist...all the retailers will charge the same price, though...

optima batteries can be found at a sears auto center... i should no... i work there :-P

What's the difference between a standard battery and the optima battery? isnt optima just a brand?

I bought mine from Advance Auto.
Optima's are vibration resistant and can be used in any position.

yeah optima batteries can be used upside down, inside out... whatever... maybe not inside out... but their unique "gel" cell allows this... they're good on racing applications...

I bought mine last spring, got it for $119 for a red top... now they are like 30 bucks more this season... Daaayum. Glad i'm on the payroll at Advance auto and get to use that discount. Ha ha...
