Re: A Sketch Program

Pro Software

-Adobe Photoshop

-Corel Painter

Freeware

-The Gimp

-Paint.NET

Remember that still today, the sketches are usually done by hand, then scanned and colored with Photoshop. Only a few do their sketches directlyat the computer, mostly in painter, by using a tablet.

http://www.designertechniques.com

is a great ressource. Check the archive there.

What are you searching for? Not happy with drawing by hand? I just wonder... I'm always interested in doing something different. I mean doing a sketch with a pen is probably the most natural and easiest way for most people since we all grew up and learned drawing with pencils. Of course that doesn't mean there's anything that could serve better. A mouse isn't suitable for drawing. imo. also there's the transition between the area your drawing on, and the area your drawing is actually displayed on.

There's this one Program called ICEM style, you won't get it for free anywhere, but just take a look at it. It's a mixture of Photoshop and 3D modelling software, especially designed for car designers I think. It must be a designers dream to work with it on a touch screen.

Anyway, tell me when you found something. I'd like to try it out.
