The Begining...HiT-TheNos420 02-14-2007, 05:16 AM Ive had my DSM for over a year now and can finally afford to do some of the things I imagined when I first bought the car. The question is what should i do?? I have gotten oil change, replaced belts, and water pump. Now I am looking for the next step. Can anyone set me up with a list of mods or ideas on what to do to add performance to my ride?? steviek 02-14-2007, 08:13 AM http://dsmtuners.com/sub.php?page=2gtstage1power we should really just sticky a link I'm getting sick of this. Thor06 02-14-2007, 09:46 AM  3" exhaust, boost guage, and a MBC is what I would do right away. After that, I would get DSMlink and fuel mods. Everyone has different ideas but the tuners, upgrade path is a good starting point. Shpyder 02-14-2007, 04:00 PM I'd say neons, colored radiator hoses, led washers, and a NOS sticker with random Japanese writing that's actually Chinese and has nada to do with cars but you can't tell the difference as long as its' "swooshy". After that, if you have some dough left, the following are pretty cost-effective per power gain: a) K&N FIPK and dump-tube hack b) 1st gen BOV c) BCS removal (careful!) followed by: d) 3" exhaust e) boost guage f) JoeP MBC g) B&M short-throw with Symborski bushing kit (you'll love the shifting with this, makes life easier) Then, just wait a little for the crankwalk monster, and build a 6-bolt. :icon16: scottsee 02-14-2007, 04:31 PM Thank-you..... Drive throuh... Come agian. budget? HiT-TheNos420 02-14-2007, 07:03 PM BTW.. No Budget.... I have HKS BOV...... and when is it time to upgrade turbos? And is there a upgrade stage list for turbos i can look at. Shpyder 02-14-2007, 09:17 PM And is there a upgrade stage list for turbos i can look at. What you really need is an EvoIII16G. What you think you really need is an SBR-GT35R. So go with just what you really need, which is the 16g :) crunchymilk55 02-14-2007, 11:33 PM 16g sucks. non linear power delivery blows on a FWD. get a 50trim Shpyder 02-14-2007, 11:39 PM non linear power delivery blows Considering all turbos require some at least time to spool before hitting peak boost, I'm not sure why the 16G would be that much of a deviance from a 50 trim, though they do spool real quick, but cost $300 more, i think. Spool up time on a t3/t4 50trim/stage3/.63ar exhause housing is just right under 3800rpm (full boost 3rd gear) Reference: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53719 My 16G spooled at around 3500, iirc. Not that much of a difference. Here's a good threadL http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=162518 crunchymilk55 02-15-2007, 12:10 AM I'm not talking about spool times sphyder. Linear power delivery means rising power with rpm, or rising power with speed. It makes a huge difference in FWD. If you have AWD, then it doesn't really matter, but having an exponential power curve in a fwd (like I do) is crappy. And damn you spooled late man. I had 20psi by 3100rpm. steviek 02-15-2007, 12:28 AM yea Im spooling at 3200 no prob Shpyder 02-15-2007, 12:56 AM And damn you spooled late man. I had 20psi by 3100rpm. Really? :uhoh: I kinda thought it was to laggy for such a small turbo... I'm not sure what was going on. Ahh, the stress-free life of owning a slow NA. :grinno: Thor06 02-15-2007, 01:03 AM  My b16g got 16 psi at like 3400ish. Boost leak FTW! :p crunchymilk55 02-15-2007, 01:21 AM  My b16g got 16 psi at like 3400ish. Boost leak FTW! :p if DSMer's could fix all the boost leaks, I bet the accepted "spool times" would drop by 500rpm for every turbo out there :grinyes: Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
