I just bought an 02 Trailblazer LS that didn't come with keyless entry. I went to buy the parts at my dealer and they said Chevy doesn't make an add-on part. I can't get a straight answer from them as to whether my TrailBlazer has the brain and I just need the remotes or if I have to purchase an aftermarket system. I have power door locks/windows....but no keyless.
If you post your 17 digit vin code I can tell you anything about your t-blazer you want to know. And yes GM does make about five models of GM add on accessory keyless entry and vehicle security systems. Let me know I'll be happy to help you.
John i am in the same situation about the keyless entry i was wondering if you could give me a hand on this i have an 03 trailblazer Ls. the vin 1gnds13s032104583
You cannot get a factory add-on for the 03's. I got a very good after market installed for $201.00. They integrated it right into the existing wiring and controller.
Works great....just like the factory. Be careful to pick a good product and installer though. They can muck something up if they don't know what they're doing.
I sell them for dealers. I use DEI product and usually sell the Automate line. Yes, it is tricky on the TB's because of the computer that operates everything. I have to use a special interface that ties right into the computer. That way I can do driver's door unlock 1st, then the rest on the second push. DEI made Gm style keyless units. They are listed as VSE1000 among others. Here's a site that selling some http://www.oemradios.com/gmkeyenalsys.html
Would appreciate if someone could check this VIN 1GNDS13SX32262431 to see if it has the keyless remote entry capability. Bought is used, and have no remotes.
(2003 TB LS)
Thanks in advance.
