1996 S-10 Blazer Front Brake Caliper Bolt Sizewolfden6 02-09-2007, 03:08 PM I am going to replace a co-workers front brakes on his 1996 Blazer and I want to make sure I have the proper tool to remove the calipers. What size bolt head is the caliper bolt or is it a allen head bolt or a torx head bolt?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks corning_d3 02-09-2007, 03:40 PM If I remember correctly, It's a T-60 torx. It's been a little while since I've dealt with GM brakes. I bet you could call a GM service dept. close to you and get a definite answer.. mike2004tct 02-09-2007, 09:26 PM If I remember correctly, It's a T-60 torx. It's been a little while since I've dealt with GM brakes. I bet you could call a GM service dept. close to you and get a definite answer.. That's interesting. My '97 Blazer has 3/8" Allen head bolts, as most GM products do. (I'm the original owner, and nobody but me has touched the brakes). corning_d3 02-10-2007, 12:27 AM You could be right. I've been workin on chryslers too long.. 1996LTOwner 02-12-2007, 01:23 AM Yes. A 3/8 allen wrench. Between my 95 S-10 from 95 until 2000 and my 96 blazer since 2000 I've done my share of brakes. Absolutely the 3/8 allen wrench. Don't forget cleaner, fine sand paper and grease for the pins or they will surely bind and cause premature break wear. lilloon 01-25-2008, 02:02 PM 3/8 hex. the t-60 was on the gm w-bodys front brakes old_master 01-25-2008, 07:00 PM 3/8 hex. the t-60 was on the gm w-bodys front brakes This thread is almost a year old, please check the date before you post in old threads.
