I am going to replace a co-workers front brakes on his 1996 Blazer and I want to make sure I have the proper tool to remove the calipers.
What size bolt head is the caliper bolt or is it a allen head bolt or a torx head bolt??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If I remember correctly, It's a T-60 torx. It's been a little while since I've dealt with GM brakes. I bet you could call a GM service dept. close to you and get a definite answer..

That's interesting. My '97 Blazer has 3/8" Allen head bolts, as most GM products do. (I'm the original owner, and nobody but me has touched the brakes).

Yes. A 3/8 allen wrench. Between my 95 S-10 from 95 until 2000 and my 96 blazer since 2000 I've done my share of brakes. Absolutely the 3/8 allen wrench. Don't forget cleaner, fine sand paper and grease for the pins or they will surely bind and cause premature break wear.
