94 sentra good deal?koollook124 02-07-2007, 03:34 PM I'm looking at a 1994 Sentra XE with power everything in a 5spd. It has the 1.6 and 120k on it and they're asking 1450 for it. I haven't looked at it or test driven it yet. Is it a good deal? what should I pay close attention to when i see it/ test drive it? slideways... 02-09-2007, 07:42 PM give him 1200 for it. yeah its not horrible price but you can almost always talk people down. the things id look for is a rough motor and rust. also ask about the timing belt/chain, brakes, clutch, ect. koollook124 02-11-2007, 12:18 AM he was pretty firm on the 1450 because he knew he could get more out of it and isnt rushed to sell, no rust new brakes new cvboot/shaft not sure about the clutch and the motor runs very smooth, the car also needs new tires. However I am going to check out and test drive a 1994 mazda protege tomarrow that has 50k,a 5 spd and apparently is always garage kept. Right now I am kinda leaning towards the mazda because of the mileage but I am still considering the nissan too. Sooo idk what do you guys think about mazdas?????? slideways... 02-11-2007, 10:50 AM id say get the mazda. nismo_pilot 02-11-2007, 10:02 PM id say my 98 gxe sentra runs like a ethiopian chasing a sandwich even with 140k miles, those old school sentras run forever, even if you slide it into a wall sideways or sink it in a mudhole when your out mudding with your redneck buddies MiXdNuTs 02-12-2007, 02:35 PM id say my 98 gxe sentra runs like a ethiopian chasing a sandwich even with 140k miles, those old school sentras run forever, even if you slide it into a wall sideways or sink it in a mudhole when your out mudding with your redneck buddies Very true, my wife spun my 94 sentra off the interstate at 70mph and did 3 complete 360s (no roll over thankfully) and ended up backwards with a tire wedged in a storm drain grate at the bottom of a steep hill. I didn't even have to get the alignment corrected after that, although the tow truck chipped my paint by kicking up rocks spinning the tires. :( koollook124 02-12-2007, 10:48 PM so I test drove the mazda today , didn't seem to run as smoothly as the sentra and the interior and everything wasn't in as good condition. The guy was kind of a dink with the mazda and was unclear about somethings. the Add stated a 94 mazda protege but it's an older style (90-93) so i dont trust it. The mazda did seem a little more robust than the sentra but I'm willing to give that up JerodKing 02-13-2007, 06:16 PM Get the Sentra, 1450 for a low mileage (for a GA 120k is pretty good) with no rust is a pretty good deal. I would look at the hinges (they tend to sag) and listen for timing chain rattle. Also I would get down and look up under the rear wheels to check the wheel wells, rust tends to hide in there pretty easily. koollook124 03-06-2007, 11:38 PM Sentra had a serious problem concerning the radiator mount which is somehow in a way connected with the engine mount so no go on that. I did manage to find a nice Acura Integra for 1700 and bought it(sorry I'm a traitor) and it is one solid car with 148k on it. dreww 03-31-2007, 12:03 AM Sentra had a serious problem concerning the radiator mount which is somehow in a way connected with the engine mount so no go on that. I'll have a picture of it sometime soon in my signature. slideways... 03-31-2007, 10:33 AM any integra > base model b13 sentra. you got a good car. sentra_94 04-07-2007, 11:44 PM i just bought a 94 sentra 5-spd in perfect condition today with 139000 miles and in perfect condition for 900 so i woul try and get that guy cheaper slideways... 04-08-2007, 11:22 AM but compare markets. are you in the same state, much less the same city as him? prices will vary quite a bit state to state.
