My ignition swith works but it is very lose. I am able to trun the key and start the truck without the prongs that are part og the switch moving. I opened the covers to expose the switch and nothing appears broken. Can an ignition switch be replaced? Is it alot of work? Thanks

I've replaced a couple of ignition switches in the past but none in a Ranger. To begin with check out the procedure from a Ford Ranger manual, Haynes, or Chilton, etc. I would not say that it is hard once you've done it but feeling your way into the project could be slow and tedious. Foremost, disconnect the battery ground before starting work. Get a new switch if you can and be careful with the many plastic components surrounding the switch.
