Installing rear 6X9's, HELP!

Hey guys,

I have a pair of Pioneer 6X9's, and want to install them, my stock speakers are fine, but it would be better to have the pioneers in. How do I do it, starting from getting the interior off to get to them, also I hope not, but do I have to cut my headliner that covers the speakers there for them to fit? Help is appreciated guys! Thanks much!

95-99 w/o baby seat mounts..The side moldings that run along the rear glass window, you need to pop those off. They just snap in and out. Then there are 4 push pin things holding the top dash on where the release lever is for the seat. Pull them out and then the whole rear dash should be free to pull straight forwards out. 4 screws holding the speakers into the black brackets. There ya go.

This is how is was on my sedan, i am going to assume its the same for coupes. Since all the entire car is pretty much held together with retainer clips.

go into the trunk. thats where they are hooked up. just unplug the wire and unscrew the speakers. you dont need to go on the back deck for anything unless you want to cut it and put them mounted on top like me....

Re: Installing rear 6X9's, HELP!

dude i just installed pioneer 6X9's in my 01 cavy and also 4X6's in the front. I Pulled the whole rear deck out and figured out where i wanted the speakers in the car and i had marked the rear deck where the speakers where going to go. I then cut the cardboard out of the rear deck and left the carpeting and just made cross cuts across the carpet and now i had my holes for the speakers and i had the carpeting so i could just slid the speakers in and make them look stock like. I attatched the speakers to the rear deck and put the whole assembly back in. It looks really good the way i did it and it was just a whole lot easier to take the deck out and just everything trimmed and centered the way you want it. If you need more help just reply
