Heated Seats

I have a 2000 LT and the drivers side heated seats work spiradically (SP?) I have read about a control module, switches, element etc. On mine, sometimes when I push the button it doesn't cycle properly. EG, If I get in for the first time and push the button, it goes to low first and then maybe to high or off on the next pushes. At times, the heat will come on right away and others it takes forever. When it does come on, it usually fades after a couple minutes and I have to push the button again. Sorry for the wordy description, but it is all I could do to explain. Sounds like the switch??

Re: Heated Seats

I have a '99 LT that has a similar problem. The drivers side heated seats won't work or barely comes on at all. The lights on the switch look fine but no heat. I heard that maybe the body control module could cause this? Any ideas?

Re: Heated Seats

My 00 z71 is experiencing this same problems. How you found the cause to this problem?

When my seats do start heating up, it takes a long time too. They don't heat up as quick as the use too. Would this be because of normal usage of the seats because of age?

Thanks
Tsutaz

Re: Heated Seats

The elements break real easily. They are no different than that of heating pads you use in the home. If you are real heavy or get in and out a lot, it'll cause them to wear sooner.
