Hearing pston firing through my stereo.

Only when i am using the radio, only when I am on the gas, if I remove my foot from the pedal, the sound goes away.

You can hear the pistons firing.

I am using Taylor plug wires which are extremely high quality.

Could it be the wires? Just seems weird it is happening. It never did it before.

Re: Hearing pston firing through my stereo.

What do you think about the spark gap between the end of the rotor button and the posts inside the distributor cap?

Re: Hearing pston firing through my stereo.

It night time now, if you remove the underhood bulb then fire the motor, you might be able to see some excessive sparking.

Are you listening to a Ronnie Montrose tape? One of his tunes starts of with a heavily overdriven guitar/amp sounding like a motor going through the gears.... :>]

Re: Hearing pston firing through my stereo.

It is only when I am pressing on the gas, never when I take it off.

Re: Hearing pston firing through my stereo.

If taylor wires are solid they will have noise. Non resistor plugs will also.

If both are radio suppresion and resistor then maybe the wires need to be carbons instead.

Re: Hearing pston firing through my stereo.

They are the stock plugs and the wires are silicone core.

What are carbons?

Re: Hearing pston firing through my stereo.

Carbon core wires, I'd never heard of silicone core (only outer jacket) but anyways they are sure to be radio suppression and perhaps the trouble is not in the wires/plugs at all?

Solid wires will usually give lots of radio noise.
