Starting issues

My girlfriend has a 97 prism that was fine until my father tried cleaning the engine. The car started and was driven home the day he cleaned the engine but now it will not start and when it does start it only runs for about 5 or 10 seconds and goes off. Durning the time it's running, it runs very rough. Any ideas of what we can do.

Re: Starting issues

Hey,
It sounds like to me he may have disconnected a evap system hose. I had forgot to hook it back up and it ran like crap and then shut off. I would check all the connections in the motor. electrical and hoses it could be a small leak in a air pressure hose and when it gets the leak it shuts down.

Is the car giving any error codes? If so what are they?
