Re: 90 chevy pu

Welcome to AF!

Good or bad is going to be entirely up to you. Some things to consider:
1) What is your mechanical skill level - do you have the moxy to get stymied more than once and keep going?
2) Do you have the needed tools? Hand tools, power tools, engine hoist etc...
3) What are you trying to achieve? More power? Better towing capability? Better mileage? Is there an easier/cheaper way to accomplish your goals?
4) How many $$$ are you willing to put into this project? It always costs more and takes longer than you think it will
5) Do you have to pass inspection/emmisions where you are? If so, how will you insure you can do that? It would be a shame to finish the project only to discover it can't be licensed...
6) Do you have a protected place to work that isn't on a deadline to be out of there?
7) Do you have familiarity with carburated engines to the level that you can tune them? If not do you have access to someone who does?
8) Do you have access to a local grizzled veteran of small blocks that you can bounce ideas off?

This is a project I'd love to do in my burb but neither my bank account or my time will currently support it. If you go ahead with this project please let us know how it turns out along with your driving impressions. Good Luck!
