Hi all!
I bought a 1992 Automatic Celica GTS last summer. Since then, the tranny has been acting weirdly.
When i start the car and put it on DRIVE, it seems that the tranny starts in 3rd gear and my car has a hard time to lift off... no matter how hard i press the throttle pedal to the floor...
If the Overdrive is at on, 5 mins after the engine has been turned on, the O/D OFF light in the dashboard starts to flash on and on and if the OD is at off, it won't (the O/D OFF light will appear on the dashboard, as it is supposed to).
Now, if i beat my car while the OD is at off, **sometimes**

the tranny will work fine (starts in 1st gear, then 2nd, 3rd and 4th) only for a while though, but most part of the time, it won't...
Now i checked my throttle body and notice that the upper cable (cuz there is 2) that goes frome the throttle body all the way to the tranny seems to be loose... i tried to tight it up, but it didn't change sh*t
I also checked in the HAYNES book for celicas about that... but there's like 2 to 3 pages about automatic tranny
No i'm pretty pissed and i don't have enough money to go to the dealer (god damn OBD1 that any garages can't read nowadays) and i was wondering if any of you guys know what might cause that god damn problem... and what i should do in order to fix it
