Re: Starter wont engage

I would first get you battery tested. If it takes a little while to charge and/or it needs to mb replaced, then that's your problem. If not then it's definitly your starter. You can pull it out and get it tested almost anywhere. The clicking means that your selonoid is engaging, so you're getting a lot of energy to the starter, but the starter not turning means it's bad. It's a good idea to just get the battery checked up, but there's probably a 80% chance you need a new starter.

During the cold your starter also needs more amps because resistance goes up in your wires with lower temps; that's why your battery is rated in Cold Cranking Amps.

Hope that helps.

Re: Starter wont engage

I did use 2 different batteries and i did place them on a charger, still got the clicking noise, so thats a sign that my starter is craped out?I was thinking of buying a mini torque starter on ebay brand new, check this out: would this work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...7193711&rd=1,1

I just want to be 100% positive its my starter gone bad before i buy a new 1.Just let me know.

The only way to be 100% positive it's the starter is to pull it and have it tested.
