Do you think it should be banned ? I've only been to a couple and i love it but i've heard that police are really cracking down on it and you'll get your car towed even if its just sitting their . I've also heard of deaths related to street racing ,from where the people racing do it on busy streets where their is alot of traffic were you not only put your life in danger but you also put others . IMO i think that if you want a fair race you should go to the strip and run the 1/4 with who ever . Don't get me wrong i've raced camero's , integra's from light to light , hell its fun as anything . I'm just wondering what do you think about street racing

well, i dont care for street racing so long as it's done in a relatively safe environment... like in a quiet little town during the night, where there aren't even any houses around... just the road.

I love street racing but I will only do it late at night when there aren't so many innocent pedestrians out, see I actually do care for other people *lol*

I think that it should be allowed to a certain extent. Knowing where you are going would be great because you wouldn't be running into another person hopefully. If you did, then however, most of the hypocrites would come out of the woodworks telling you that you were wrong and should never have done something like that ever.

Man, if anybody had some political influence, they should get it scheduled and have roads closed off. I mean, come on, it's going to happen, and it might as well happen on some normally deserted industrial park road, closed off for the express purpose. I'd be so much safer, and it would free up more cops to catch the real crooks like wife beaters and car stealers. Either that, or people should take it to old air strips or drag tracks. People just need to have a bit of fun, and it's about time that the cops realized that.

In Zurich streetracing is quite difficult. 1st there are radar traps everywhere 2nd our roads aren't that wide but it would be fascinating if we could have one day in the year when the police would made up a track trough the city. There are some awesome roads here where you can race a bit but you wont go over 150km/h the risk is simply too high! Mention that if you go here 100km/h to fast it was your last time as a driver especialy in the city!

My take on it is this. It's illegal for a reason. Now I'm not going to be a hypocrite cuz, I do it. But I tend to keep it on the highway where the traffic is pretty much up to the speeds one tends to be at. However, I wish they would have something around me where you can just go and race. The only one closest is Englishtown, New Jersey. Too far a drive for me. Secondly, I've been to street races, Hunt's Point, and it's too risky there. The police in NYC are really cracking down hard on sooped up rides. They are going so far as to harrass you if your car is modified, enginewise. But, I know I would still race.

You have to be careful too. Nowadays I see too many kids in their Tegs, Civics, Accords and what not, racing and either crashing or hurting somebody because of a stupid race. If you're gonna do it, be responsible and have common sense to know when it is feasible. If you race wrecklessly, you should obviously have your license revoked.

I did love street racing.
Now though as i've got a bit older (no replys thankyou) i look back and think to my self how silly it was.
To me it's not worth risking you pride and joy tearing down some 2 lane street at night for about 10-30 secs of fun and risking not only your self but anyone else on the road. You dont know what is behind that parked car, what the person your racing is going to do etc etc.

Car clubs need to get together and sort out a place and time for drag racing in a proper place and have meetings every 2 weeks or so.
Entry should be free for the driver. This charge the driver to race his car at a meeting sucks big time. Who the hell is putting on the show for everyone !!!
Do they charge football players etc to play in front of a packed house on Saturdays????....i think not.

If we are going to street race, lets do it right and get the average person along to see what its all about...not the 2 minute news clip on T.V which shoots us all down with the same bullets.
