answer to will start when it is warm but not when it is cold

Hi all
just like to post some interesting helpful information.
I have read artical after artical after artical abought my safari wont start when it is cold but will when it is warm, everybody replacing fuel pumps, relays, fuel injection units and what have you with no results getting towed to garage getting fuel pump or what ever replaced only to have the same problem couple hours later soon as it gets cold, warm in the garage were towed, they replace whatever they suspect, ah van runs (warm garage) take home gets cold will not start.
I had non start problem for 2 years when cold i only replaced fuel pump relay and IAC still would not start when cold here is my situation when the temp would drop below 35 degrees it would not start, over 35 degrees it would.
summertime did not have any trouble what so ever.when temp dropped to say 34 degrees fuel pump would not pump fuel, over that it would, pretty strange if you ask me
I HAVE DISCOVERED THE ANSWER ye ha no mechanic bills or to many extra parts
i did all checks in wiring harness and all checked good all the way to the fuel pump even the wires that went to the fuel pump were they connect checked good had power ground.
So you would automaticaly think fuel pump bad right (WRONG)
i am not saying there is always that chance but please try this first
check the wiring harness inside your tank make sure all wires and plugs fit tight, not snug ,I MEAN TIGHT. mine were slighty loose thats what i did and i have not had ant trouble what so ever starts right up even when it is 0 degrees made this discovery 2 weeks ago i live in wisconsin.
you may think i am nuts but hey it worked for me good luck all.
You can check it when it is out of the tank by running a wire from your positive post on battery to the test connecter that comes out of the relay

Re: answer to will start when it is warm but not when it is cold

That should have been found in the second step of the repair job: "A good visual inspection". (The first step is to "verify the problem".) Granted, removing the fuel pump as part of a visual inspection is excessive, but you must admit, the loose connection would have been found. Far too many "mechanics" skip those steps and go right for their "gut" feeling. That's the difference between a mechanic and a technician. You were obviously a technician on that one!
