2003 Sonama 2.0 vibration

Hello!
I have a 2003 Sonama 2.0, 2wd, hot wheels package, 30000 mi., purchased used (12000 mi), out of warranty by 6 months. It has developed a vibration in the drive train upon acceleration (under load). It will cease if I accelerate very slowly. I suspected universal joints, but they are both very tight and snug in their housings, no sign of anything wrong with them. I did notice that the rear transmission mount has a great deal of play. I can easily move the transmission up by simply pushing up from underneath. There's really not much to the mount, just a rubber cushion with the mounting bolt through it. Can this mount be bad and be the cause of the vibration? I don't want to have to go into the engine bearings, or replace the transmission.
Anyone have a similar situation???

Re: 2003 Sonama 2.0 vibration

Thanks for the response. I've been offline for a bit so I couldn't check sooner. Time for a new mount.
