Question 991: Carrera 2 or Carrera 4 ????

If you would be in the lucky situation to be able to buy a new Porsche 911 - would you prefer a 911 Carrera 2 or a 911 Carrera 4 ?

Maybe you really have enough dough or just think about this question too or still own a Carrera 2 or a Carrera 4 - give me your advice!

But

1.) Carrera 4 is more expensive. Plus EUR 6.500 in Europe - ok you can say EUR 6.500 are peanuts for everyone who wants to purchase a Porsche.

and

2.) different drivability not only because of 4WD, but because of more weight (plus 125 lbs. - ok hardly anyone would perceive this in every day drive)

So after listing some unimportant arguments - there is no "real" disadvantage for a 4-Wheel-Porsche!
Maybe a Porsche Carrera 4S would be the best solution - better look with the wider rear!

Thumbs up Turbo-Look vs. GT3-Look

Thanks gemballa for your advice and your detailed data for both Carreras!!!

I fully agree with you - the Carrera 4S looks much better, but I've some pics for you of a Carrera GT3 - this car has also a stunning look!!

I already drove a 911 Carrera 2 ('99) this year with a design package. So the car looks exactly the same as a GT3! I was lucky, because one of my best friends picked me up, when he got the car for 3 days! It was really funny to feed the corners with the power and 4WD!

Here are the pics of the GT3, which matches with the car we drove, at least concerning the design - unfortunately with 60 hp less power!

Black in Black! Great look, I found it more exclusive than the Turbo-Look.

Unhappy Sorry!

Sorry, I've to disappoint you! I'm not going to buy a Porsche!
I am not able to afford one - only in my dreams!
But I am hard on working - maybe some day!
I will tell you first, when I drive my first miles in my own Porsche (but that's a long way off yet)!
