Indeed it is... I am liking this whole revolution of bringing back the older styles with a new age twist.

Re: 5th gen Trans Am???
A 5th gen T/A has been a rumor for well over a year now.
I haven't heard anything really since.
I almost kinda hope they let it rest if it is going to look exactly like the new Camaro with a chicken on the hood.

Re: 5th gen Trans Am???
i talked to some of the gm guys that brought the concept camaro to the carlisle gm nationals and they said as of now there are no plans to bring back the transam/firebird. that was back in June.

Re: 5th gen Trans Am???
If done right GM could once again sell off some Firebirds, but i agree they need to change it up a little more than the bumper and grill. It needs a whole different face and some unique options to set it apart.
The bird just comes with the car but covering an entire hood with one is a bit much.
I bet GM wants to see the Camaros sell at expected numbers, before they would even attempt to bring the birds back from the dead. Even the use of the name is a headache for them.

Re: 5th gen Trans Am???
hm.. so what were the firebirds known for? the FORMULA! yes!
make a super light version of the camaro..take out all those useless nonsense, make the springs stiffer, fatter anti-rolls.. more bracing.. (less big tires..cuz those are just for looks) same engine, or better... :]

Re: 5th gen Trans Am???
Like Mr. Luos said, GM has done or said nothing to indicate that there will be a 5th gen firebird/trans am. The pics you posted are obviously then photochops. Besides, pontiac will have the GTO back by then, built on the same platform as the camaro, so the firebird would be pretty pointless and expsensive to porduce.
Speaking of the next GTO, are any hints as to what It will look like, aside from all the photoshop speculation?

Re: 5th gen Trans Am???
Some of the GTO cocepts ive seen were ugly. I liked the way they were these last couple of years just fine.
IMO firebirds deserve to be made more than the GTO's. The firebird made it through the 70's and 80's wich were hard times for any american sports car.

Re: 5th gen Trans Am???
Some people have fascinating imaginations because that's the first 5th gen mod I've seen with T-Tops. Is the Camaro getting them??
