Re: seat belt dinger
In the instruction manual, it was listed as "belt minder" in the index. a lincoln is owned by ford, so it is probably the same solution. turn the key to on, but do not turn on the engine. make sure the doors are shut, headlights off. wait for the seat belt light to turn off (it'll take a minute or two) then, buckle and unbuckle the seat belt three times, ending w/ it unbuckled. turn on the headlights, and turn them off. buckle and unbuckle the seat belt three times again, ending w/ it unbuckled. the seat belt light should flash. in the next seven seconds, buckle and unbuckle the seat belt. all of this should be done in one minute. if procedure done sucessfully, the seatbelt light will flash three times/sec for four sec as a confirmation. now, the damn dinger wont keep going off, only the light will flash for a few seconds every 30 seconds. (other, but temp solution: when you turn on the engine w/o the seat belt buckled and it beeps, buckle and unbuckle it. the beeping will stop, but only for that ignition cycle) the former procedure will be permanent, but is reversable by going through it another time. whew! that was a lot. hope it works!
