I have a 97 s-10 w/ a 4.3L that the intake is leaking on. My question is do I need any special tools to disconnect fuel lines for fuel injection and will I need to remove the distributor to remove the intake? HOW DIFFICULT IS THIS AND APPROXIMATELY HOW LONG SHOULD IT Take?

Are you talking about the upper intake or the lower intake manifold?

I'm leaking coolant so I am assuming just the upper. Am I right?

Coolant leaking will be the Lower Intake Manifold Gaskets. It's a very time consumeing job. Not a lot of skill to it. Mostly common sense. I just did my 98 last month. Some things you may want to consider while doing this job. change all hose's, new 195 thermostat, and a new water pump and you MUST change the oil. You may need to buy some tools to make it go a little more smoothly. Are you going to be doing this yourself? If so, I followed this guy's instructions (link below) pretty much to a tee and the end results were perfect. Plus I learned a few tricks along the way that turned out to be big time savers..... As said the lower intake is where the intake leaks.
But double check for sure where it is leaking.
Check heater hose and hose connections and all other stuff first.
A good pressure test helps pin point the leak.
