Guys I have a 2001 chevy 4.8 ext. I have a ? about a key that come with the truck. Usually when the truck is brand new the dealer put a extra key inside the truck undernead the seat or some were hiding. Does any one know were the dealer puts the key on this type of truck?

Dealers do not hide extra keys in the vehicles. The truck comes with 2 keys from the factory when it is delivered to the dealer.
The dealer gives both keys to the purchaser at time of sales delivery

Yea, I don't know where you got that idea. Never heard of it myself. Mine came with two, like merlin said.

Re: 2001 Silverado Ext. Extra Key?

I don't know guys my brother-inlaw has a 97 GMC Sierra he got the truck brand new and there was an extra key hiding I'm not sure if it was underneath or back of the seat inside an envelop. I have read on some forums that if U have a Chevy-GMC 99-2002 with a counsel in the middle there should a key some were around the counsel. I didn't pull that idea out of nothing!

My 02 extended cab came with 2 keys on a ring; and I KNOW there aren't any others hiding because my seats have been removed from my truck; if there was an extra; I would have seen it.

I won't say it's impossible, because every dealer could be different, but I doubt it's standard procedure.
