My wife has a 1995 Cirrus lxi , 2.5 liter engine.
This weekend, I noticed some engine noise when her car idles.
It has plenty of oil according to the dipstick & no leaks.
The oil light comes on ocassionly, then goes off.
Could this be the oil sending unit going out ?

This seems to be a common problem for Cirrus' as they get older. I have the same issue and everyone seems to say that it is the Oil pressure sensor/sending unit. It is a cheap repair don't delay in taking it in just to be sure.

Thanks, just got it in & out of the shop last week.
We thought it was the oil pump going out, but it was something minor.
My mechanic was off when we picked it up, but I will call him today to get his dianosis.
Her car is running great now.
Thanks for your reply & advise.
