best tasting cheesesteak in florida
So for lunch I had the best tasting cheesesteak i have ever had. This was what I would expect the cheesesteaks to taste like in philly.
best part is it still tasted good 7 hours later
even had little chunks of green pepper in it... i dont think i am getting the full 30 chews my mother told me to take, because those green pepper bits were still completely intact... i should have pulled them out. Could have been the best puke 'n steak sandwhich for tomorrows lunch.
I was going to make this a really long post (as is my style) but i gotta see if any more of this sandwhich is salvagable.

So throwing it up, is that like the Floridian method of food testing as they test wine in Cali? You know, sniff it, swash it, gurrgle then spit it out?

Re: best tasting cheesesteak in florida
Green peppers on a cheesesteak? (Man the rest of the world has so much to learn.) And if it didn't have whiz on it, you have no idea how good a cheesesteak can be.
I once heard a woman tell of an orgasm that made her feel like she was riding on waves of pleasure, like it was so powerful she grew a few inches taller, like bolts of lightning shot out her fingers, like the whole world could have been falling out of orbit and she could care less. Eating an honest to goodness Philly cheesesteak is kinda like that, but it lasts longer cause you can lick the cheese off the wax paper... and your shirt if you're lucky.

Yeah but they usually have a decent looking female doing the honors... public heath law violation yes, but no one complains, matter of fact they usually order them 2 or 3 at a time. opcorn:

Re: best tasting cheesesteak in florida
You guys have to take a ride to Philly and get one. The rest of the country does them all wrong. Either they add a ton of veggies that aren't suppose to be there or they serve it on a hot dog bun looking thing or they use american cheese. They are awesome, period.
Its like a slice of Brooklyn/Bronx pizza or any other hometown special. It just aint the same anywhere else.

Ain't you just the pot calling the kettle black???
I still stand by what I said (confirmed by an omniscient fellow local AF member) that the rest of the US has no right to call their dog shit on a roll a "Philly cheesesteak." Come here and try one, and then you'll see. No wonder you puked it up, I would have too and then I would have given it back to them via the "comments" box they usually have somewhere.

Re: best tasting cheesesteak in florida
i have had cheesesteaks at pat's and gino's and another place, phil's i think. and they are hella good and i never had another like it.....untill this new bar opened up down the road called the eagles nest. they actually get the bred shipped in from philly and they do use whiz and they got onions on it and yes the meat is all super chopped up. it tastes almost identical to those in philly. but it dosnt measure up cuz you dont have the atmosphere. but other then that its just as good. thats the only time i have had a comparable cheesesteak since i left philly. so if your ever driving through cocoa beach fl and you want a cheesesteak let me know, thats the realest deal outta philly

around here in cincy, we got a place called Penn Station that, according to msn, has the best cheesesteak outside of philly itself. i would have to agree, even though i've never had one anywhere else

Re: best tasting cheesesteak in florida
They might have decent cheesesteaks, but they aren't the same. Something about the water makes the bread different, etc.
Anyhoo... Cincy is a crazy town... Anyone who eats Chili on top of spaghetti, claims to be better at making chili than Texas or Mexico, and is mainly of german decent which has nothing to do with chili, spaghetti, mexico or texas is obviously in their own world, lol. (JOKING).
You guys do have a nice city though, If you could replace your chili with honest to goodness philly cheesesteaks, I'd consider moving there. My sister lived there for 5 years and wrote for the Enquirer, and showed me some cool bars out there, Blue Lou's, etc. Nice town.
