91 4Runner Gas Problem Realy weirdcamshaft9083 01-03-2007, 07:42 PM I bought a 91 4WD v6 about 6 months ago. I knew the gas mileage was not going to be good but, recently started a weird problem. I have averaging about 215 two a tank around town.. All of a sudden I am getting about 150 miles to a full tank. I changed the Air filter (which was very dirty) and im going to test this tank out. I was going to change the fuel filter but I don’t k now where it is.. Any suggestions Any help would be greatly appreciated Brian R. 01-03-2007, 10:35 PM Welcome to the AF! Check the fuel line pulse damper near the firewall. They are know to abraid and leak in this model engine. RIP 01-04-2007, 01:06 AM If it's not the damper are you seeing any driveability issues like sluggish acceleration, hard starting, missing or bucking under load, stalling, etc.? Go to Autozone.com for instructions on how to replace the fuel filter. 4Wheel 01-04-2007, 03:07 AM The fuel filter is in the frame on the passenger side near the transfer case cross member. But very rarely is it a problem. The clogged air filter might be your problem; this year of truck has a propensity to foul the air filter. camshaft9083 01-04-2007, 03:48 PM Thanks for the help,,ya i changed the air filter now i gonna try the fuel filter Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
