iPod connection for '02 540 w/DSP

I received an iPod for Christmas, and want to connect it to my '02 540 DSP/equipped sound system. Many companies/sites tell me I can't - one [the I-BMW-T w/DSP add-on from icarkits.com] tells me I can. Does anyone have any experience/knowledge in this area?

I have an 2005 530 and I bought an interface from crutchfield that my local hifi store installed and it works pretty well. I had the ipod wired for the glovebox and had an additional jack installed through the armrest sliding door so I can watch video with great sound. Not sure what specific model I bought, but they were pretty helpful on the phone.

The iPod can have a radio device fitted enabling you to tune your car or any radio device to the iPod or if your car still has a cassett you can buy (£10) a cassett adapter to head phone jack plug.
