Where is the Cabin Air Filter on my '98 Windstar GL?lidation 01-02-2007, 05:25 PM I am about to change the cabin air filter to my '98 Windstar GL. I searched but it didn't help much. I sorta know the approximate location of my cabin air filter to my '98, which is in the engine bay to the passenger side on the firewall. But I don't know what trick to pull the old filter housing door open to get to the filter. Anyone could give me a better idea of what to do when you are facing the filter? Like by pulling what handle can I get the filthy filter out? :frown: And is the filter to my '98 Windstar located shown below? :screwy: http://www.ece.udel.edu/~xuan/auto-hold/automotiveforums/DSC_0126-s-s.jpg http://www.ece.udel.edu/~xuan/auto-hold/automotiveforums/DSC_0127-s.jpg 12Ounce 01-02-2007, 08:02 PM I believe the cabin air filter first appeared on the '99 model. road_rascal 01-02-2007, 09:07 PM I suppose you could remove the wiper arms and then the plastic cowl and see if there actually is a filter there (you never know). If not, you could fabricate an access panel in the cowl and buy or make a filter. lidation 01-02-2007, 09:26 PM I think the '98 Windstar has a cabin air filter 'cause I checked serveral car parts websites and they all show a cabin air filter to the '98, but not to the '97. wiswind 01-02-2007, 10:58 PM If that is the case, your owner's manual should list it. I have an alldata subscription, but it is only for the '96...which certainly does not have one. It would not be the first time that an autparts store catalog was wrong. Maybe you could check the motorcraft website, and see if they list one. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
