I just cant figure this one out. I just did a brake job on my friends Tahoe and bleed the brakes and the pedal feels great, then turn it on and the pedal goes to the floor. Not to mention it seems that the fluid is shooting out of the resevoir when the cover is off. I read that there is a way to bleed the master cylinder. The tahoe is a LT with abs. Any help would be great, since its in my driveway.

Welcome to AF. Do any dash brake lites come on, why did you bleed the system to begin with,?

We did the rear drums and pads, bled the brakes from the furthest to the closest. Then when the truck was turned on the freakn pedal went all the way down and wouldnt pump up. The resevoir seemed to bubble when the pedal was depressed. No lights or abs lights come on.

It is more than possible that you tossed the master.I have seen that before.Next round, If the master went empty while your doing your job you have to start at the master cyl with the bleeding.Yes fluid will blast out of the master with the lid off,that's why the lid has a tight seal.

Again, in doing the pads and rotors why bleed the brakes, just asking because it is unecessary. Remember sitting still you can push the pedal almost to the floor, if forced down, on just about any vacuum p/b car/truck, how does it feel moving it and stepping on the brake?

I had to also change the rear wheel cylinders, thats why I had to bleed them.

FWIW I have had to use a power bleeder to get these things to get a solid pedal. The old fashioned way I could never get to work.

make shure the key is in the on position when bleeding the brakes...
