I had the same problem on my 97 (I own 4 now 92,94,97,02) As it turned out water was actually entering from the rear stop light on the top of the van. Water runs back on the roof channels with alot of force while driving and will create leaks over time. I removed the screws securing the light, then cleaned all the crud underneath with some acetone and a soft wire brush. There is a plastic gasket there so either remove it or clean top and bottom of it. (rust must be removed and treated)Then get some aqarium grade sealant applied to all surfaces and reinstall.(a small bead all the way around after securing too) Make sure everything is dry and give it a full day before getting wet. I hope this helps.

We also had this problem on our '90 and '99 vans. On the '99, the left door striker plate, (loop on the floor that is the catch for the door) is through bolted to a plate on the under side of the floor. This plate can be adjusted inward to tighten the seal od the door gaskets of both doors. This is done by loosening both bolts and sliding the strike toward the front of the car.Do not remove both of these bolts as the screw plate underneath will drop out of sight. If you cannot get enough adjustment elongating the holes in the sheet metal of the floor will give you more adjustment. To do this first remove 1 of the two bolts that hold the loop in place and loosen the other but do not remove it. Elongate the one hole, replace the bolt then elongate the other hole. Seal the bolt holes w/ clear silicone caulk.
