Angry My 1993 740iL drinks windshield washer fluid

Just entering my first winter with my beautifiul BMW with only one concern. My car literally drinls washer fluid.I've had the container replaced, there are no leaks but after using the wipers just a few times I have to refill the container.Where does it all go? Can I shut off the head and fog light washers? Any advice welcome.

Re: My 1993 740iL drinks windshield washer fluid

If your reservoirs are like my 1988 750, then there are actually three reservoirs. A large one top side with a smaller one siameesed to it, and then a tube at base of the big reservoir that feeds a smaller reservoir just behind the passenger side headlight. That lower reservoir is actually the feed for headlights ad fog lights as nd the big reservoir is the filler for that little one. The siameesed reservoir is for the intense system and all have their own pumps. I simply pinched the feed tube off to the lower reservoir and of course stopped the headlight/fog light operation. once you do this the big reservoir works the windshield in normal mode and the siameesed reservoir if for intense operations.
