Fuel Line Problems

I have woes with my fuel line on my 1999 Tahoe. I of course screwed the threads up on the fuel line filter fittings last time I put a new filter on, but I got it on tight enough and there were no leaks. Now I want to put another filter on, its been 30k since I last changed it. I was wondering if this method might work well enough to get by without running all new steel lines which I will do when the pump goes (I know it will soon, with 100k on it and the pump louder than the engine). I was going to cut the pipe at each end of the filter, buy two new fitting ends that would go into a new fuel filter and tightly clamp the hose onto the new fitting ends and then onto the existing pipes. I know this would look like crap but with the right hose and clamps what is the difference. Will the pressure of the pump be that high?? can I do this?? Is this a viable way to get by for a year or so. I just dont want to leave a dirty fuel filter in the vehicle just because I wont be able to get another on.

Re: Fuel Line Problems

I know a guy that used rubber hoses for his entire fuel line in his suburban...lol...I don't think you'll have a problem.
