Ebay CAI
I was looking at buying this intake from EBAY
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-96...spagenameZWDVW
I know its not a real Cold air intake and just a WAI or Ramair
But for the price do you think its worth it? Anyone bought one of these? or does anyone have any other comments on it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Ebay CAI
its not that its just an intake, its the point that the mounting bracket might not be in the right spot, the pipe might not fit right, the sensor hole might not be in the right spot, the sensor might not even fit in the given hole, and the filter is probaly garbage. but then theres the other side of it where everything might be fine. so like i said, its up to u, but if it doesnt work out, dont be bummed out.
btw...saying its just an intake is like saying that Ebay intakes works as well as an AEM basicly....

Re: Ebay CAI
Just check the seller's feedback, most of the time you don't need a mounting bracket anyway or you can rig up your own, On my 96 2.2, I had a civic intake on there from autozone with one of the generic filters they sell. It's going to filter and weather it doesn't flow as well as a K&N filter or not, it's still gonna let more air in then a stock intake system. But going back to the mounting bracket, sure you can say rigging up your own is cheap and ghetto or whatever you wanna call it but, that's what you get for paying $35. For the price, it's worth it.

Re: Ebay CAI
I would deffinately go with one with a correct mounting bracket. I acidently lef the nut off mine one time and it fell and started arching on the battery and caused my car to die going down the road.

Re: Ebay CAI
SEARCH....everyone wants cheap speed and yea if you want an intake, bent metal is bent metal/aluminum....it doesnt matter where the mounting bracket is....or if the temp sensor doesnt fit in the hole....hell you dont even have 2 plug the sensor in
its a cavalier, your not gonna break it by buyin junk from e-bay....but if you want a nice car, that you put time, blood, sweat, tears, and hard work into that is gonna look good....go with a kits that are made specifically for your car...
PS...i used to own a cavalier and i found a short pipe that bent in the middle....so i stuck a boot on 1 end and a filter on the other and for 25 bucks, i had an intake

Haha quit tryin to make him ruin his cavy... theres always the ebay way, or the right way. And if you ever plan on putting some serious mods on the car, you usually want to have good main parts, intake being one of those... What good is an engine that cant take enough air cuz the intake piping is leaking air, or the piping is small so it cant get enough in, or its not sending in enough fuel cuz you dont have the sensor plugged in to judge how much air is going into the engine, or the intake is too close to a tube so it burns a hole thru it and something starts leaking, and maybe by some chance that leak gets into your engine thru the ebay intake, and it ruins you motor. Theres just way to much stuff that can go wrong in a car to trust things that have no research and development. It may not concern you now cuz its just a cavy, but its really a good rule to follow, just in general. The cheap way or the right way... Haha not to scare you or anything, cuz sometimes there are great deals on ebay, but less often than not. Just my two cents.

Re: Ebay CAI
its just an intake.....get it. You're not going to see a drastic change in power with a more expensive one. The only problem here is going to be fitment. The only way i wouldnt use this is if you're boosted.....i've seen the cap on the top of the filter tear off and get sucked into a compressor wheel.....other than that, i would use it on my car

Re: Ebay CAI
Haha you not just read that? Fitment is a main thing, so is heat, size, a reliability. You buy turbo stuff for your GSR off ebay? You really shouldnt be ruining something that costs more than $5000 cuz you went cheap and bought stuff off ebay... Dunno when people will learn. Probabley do the same thing when they buy a house or something. Thats when i'll laugh when the F up something that costs over $100,000. =D

Re: Ebay CAI
hey schister not tryin to start a fight or nothing, but all you talk about is boosting. Maybe he aint tryin to spend that much money, or maybe he doesn't wanna do it at all, so for goodness sake stop tearing people down and telling them that the only way to go is boosting. help them and suggest boosting but dont tell them that its th only way to go, its just getting really old cause all your posts seem to have sumthin to that nature in them.
