Cruise control

On my way into work I thought I would try the cruise control, would not do anything. I know on my Firenza that it was a hose to my map sensor colapsing. Any ideas folks and no I do not have a repair manual yet. Please let me know where to look, could also be related to my engine jumping a few revs on the highway. People I have in the car said it feels like a miss but if I look at the tach, the engine is actually jumping upwards in revs and not bogging down. It is probably a vacuum hose but where??

Thanks in advance,
Homerr
