04 cav coupe, 05 cobalt coupe?

Hey guys, going in today to my gf's work she works at a dealership. I seen 2 cars i liked and her dad could get close to cost on them. One is a trade in, arrival blue 2 door 2004 cavalier 2.2 eco manual tranny, with a whopping 36,000km's!! She is still a baby.

The other is a 2005 cobalt white 2 door auto, with 46,000km's.

I would like to keep one of these two cars for a long time and upgrade them to make em quick, you know just for the occasional race etc.

There ASKING $10,997 CA for the cavalier, which her dad thinks he can get it down to 10 or less, OR a SALE on the cobalt original $18,900 CA on sale for $12,900 CA. The cobalt obviously has a better price but he wouldnt be able to chop them down as much because it is already on sale.

Do you think these would be a good deal? Im going to check them out today. Can that 2.2 eco take alot? I want a solid engine that i can upgrade and keep for years. Thanks alot!

Go with the 04. Any cobalt that isnt an SS is just a led turd on wheels.

Re: 04 cav coupe, 05 cobalt coupe?

Congrats.

But no, seriously go check the thread again. Most things stated mostly by some of us more pradominent members wouldnt steer anyone wrong on some parts or mods unless its for the speed limiter. I know for a fact that there are many threads I have spewed my half hearted words of wisdom on good cheap mods for the eco and Im sure there are others. Just pop onto the search and go for a wihrl.
