Got a 1997 tahoe 4x4 with 350 that's in great condition....except for the tranny.
Got a 1993 astro 2wd with 4.3 that's in not so good condition, but has a rebuilt tranny.

I'm pretty sure both are 60e trannies

How possible is it to switch these out??? Could i just switch tailshafts for the 4wd?

Pretty sure the electronics are different to start out with, check with a salvage for possible direct interchangeabilty but I don't think so.

Trannies definitely incompatable, should be able to use a 95 and newer in the 97. The one reason I am sure of is that the 97 has a PCM TCC solenoid and the 93 doesn't, I don't think its even possible to put the pcm solenoid in a 93 tranny and there have been changes to the valve bodies, pumps, and whatever else between those years
