I have heard that the Automatic Transmission Supra is faster than the Manual transmission. Is this true? Both being turbo of course, around 93-94+

Not really, it is slightly quicker in the 1/4 mi due to the quick shifting, but over all performance is about the same. The manual can handle more power than the automatic. Honestly though, I wouldn't pick a drive train based on that. Pick the trans that best fits your driving preferences. The auto will be better around town and in stop and go trafic. If you are a manual trans type and like to shift then get the manual. You have to live with the car, so pick one that you are comfortable in, not one that everyone else says you should buy.
