86-88 and 89 differences

i have noticed that on many occaisions 88 and 89 parts have some differences. at auto parts the ball joints are different bteween the two years, suspnetion (rear) is a bit different. body lift has a different part number. anyone can tell me the differences between the years casue its all part of the same generation.:banghead:

Vehicle manufacturers frequently make small changes year to year, usually improving weak points or to cut costs. Could be Toyota was incorporating some of the changes they made to the 89 pickup (89 was the first year of the next gen of p/u's).
