No excuses, he beat me. Just filling everyone in.
There are rumors he added a small shot of nitrous. I don't buy it. I checked out the car.
Also, I was running my street wheels. Heavy Torque Thrusts. Rotational mass killed me. I am probably only a 12.3-12.4 at 115'ish' on these instead of my 11.9x at 118'ish'
Also, I took the cameraman...so add 150-160 pounds there.
The Z06 was probably 800 pounds lighter last night.
He was on BFG DR's and I was on Nitto DR's. I had a little more of a problem with traction than he did. Traction wasn't an issue where he really put distance on me though.
First two races are from inside my car. Last race is the Z06 against a Kenne Bell'd 03 Cobra. Z06 owner told me I hung better than that KB Cobra.
I need to put my car on a diet and go again. With the ProStars on it.
It was a fun evening though. He was real cool about running them, and actually was impressed with my car considering all the weight we had in it.
Enjoy.

It happens. Good job for hanging with the big dogs...
If he added nos to the vett would you be able to tell? But like you said, you checked the car. Those things have traction control to help them as well so if it was from 50 or 60 roll and start you might have got him, I would think
HOT SHIT! Good races. He ate that Cobra for a snack. I thought it would have been a little closer between the TA and Z06. But I've seen videos of stock Z06's beating Lambos and GT 40's. Its definatley a top contender car. And it would be an honor to ever race one, no matter what vehicle you're in.

Personally I think it would be more of an honor to race the lambo or gt 40. Simply because the Z06 has more production and is cheaper.
Don't get me wrong I love the z06, but I see them on the streets a lot. Don't see as many lambos or gt 40s.

Wow tapping the rev limiter cant be healthy.. u could tell on the second one that as soon as u hit that limiter he pulled on u.....Good races tho, what mods did the vette have?

Well since i remember u did a whole new setup with ur engine im assuming u used hardened pushrods....but knowing u did the work on the engine i am also gonna assume that ur wrapping it up above 6k, bending pushrods is kinda common maybe not so much with hardend pushrods tho......Anyway thats not what i was getting at. Maybe if u hadnt bounced off the limiter the race may have been closer cause he pulled as soon as u were on that limiter.

Almost sure the computer cuts both...but not 100% on that. Newer cars tend to have computers that will save the motor in case of an over-rev.
Excess of any kind of racing will shorten the life of a motor. I understand this. Tapping the rev limiter once isn't going to hurt anymore than racing it for a full day at the strip.

The cars that have factory ECM's in them and use the rev limiter in the programming drop fuel not spark. At least the GM's do. GM knows that it can be dangerous to drop spark, load the cylinders & exhaust up with fuel then reapply ignition. Much safer and pratical to just shut off the injectors.
