Re: Lexus unveils new "F-Division".
Yeah, this whole "F" thing seems a little uninspired and a little more "me too". Lexus isnt known as sporty, the IS300 was sporty because of RWD and a manual tranny, but the new IS250/350 doesnt have a manual option (to my knowlage at least). And shoehorning a high output V8 in their compact sedan doesnt make it worthy of cometing with the RS4 or better yet, the E92 M3. Sure, it'll be good and sell many examples, after all were talking about Toyota here. But Since when do people who want a car like that go after Lexus? I mean, they are undoubtably familliar with M and AMG so what makes you think somebody is going to say "Oh heres Lexus jumping on the performance bandwagon, I WANT IT NOW!"? I don't know people... But Im sure the scond time around people will be clamoring to get on the waiting list... "F". What is that anyways? "Fast"? Too bland compared with BMW's "M" Motorsport and Mercedes AMG "Aufrecht Melcher Grossaspach". It'll do well as long as the IS-F isnt the only model. A SC-F and a GS-F. Hell even an ES-F would be cool (well, no, not really). But I hope they dont go the way of MErcedes and drop an "F" version of every model. Somthing about an LX-F doesnt appeal to me...
