Doesn't EGR quit during WOT anyway? So, there's really no 'gains' from deleting it?

Weight.
The EGR valve hangs down in the path of the incoming air distorting it a little.

Other than that though...no gains.

that piece can be ground off to remove the restriction.

But this doesn't then aid in cleaning up the engine bay, removing weight.
Easier to just cap off the EGR and take it off.

yea i know but if someone didn't want to mess with the computer just grinding off that piece will remove the restriction for better airflow. its free too.
if it were me i would get an ls6 intake and delete the egr from the computer.
