Weight.
The EGR valve hangs down in the path of the incoming air distorting it a little.
Other than that though...no gains.

But this doesn't then aid in cleaning up the engine bay, removing weight.
Easier to just cap off the EGR and take it off.

yea i know but if someone didn't want to mess with the computer just grinding off that piece will remove the restriction for better airflow. its free too.
if it were me i would get an ls6 intake and delete the egr from the computer.
