it said it was a WS-6. but i dont ever recall seeing a WS-6 in convertible form or with a low rise spoiler and it had both. i emailed him and asked him about it and he called me back yelling at me telling me i dont know half of what i think i do.

Which spoiler? The lip style spoiler or the raised one? I think the WS6's had the raised one.
You could paste the link so we could check it out.

Re: true WS-6??? or not
A convertible Trans Am will have the low wing to fit the top.
A t-top Trans Am will have the higher wing.
There were in fact convertible WS.6's....with the lower wing.
You need to check the VIN with Pontiac.

Re: true WS-6??? or not
damn u learn something new everyday...i have seen 1 ws6 drop top...never noticed it had the small wing on it...it was the purple one with that wild yellow race strip going up the scoops like the strips on my car. i think it was a special addetion, it says something on it. a guy in my club owns it, ill try an get a pic of it...the car would be sweet if he would ever get the fron side pannel fixed...he got it 4 cheap because it was wrecked and it cost alot to fix it, so he got it for reaaaaal cheap...but i have seen 1

here is the requested link to the car. i seriously had no idea they came with convertible and low rise spoiler. that really screws up the purpose of the car if you ask me

Re: true WS-6??? or not
Yes they did make the WS6 in a convertible, I own one, mines a 2002. The wing is actually part of the trunk lid, since a convertible doesn't have a back hatch it has a trunk lid, there is no opening between the trunk lid and the top of the spoiler. here's a link to a post I started just after I got it painted http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=579745, it has pictures of my car, also on a side note, when I had my car painted the WS6 emblem never got put back on the car, not sure if I'm going to put it back on or not, but thats why its not in those pictures (if there's even one that shows that area), but it is a WS6.

Re: true WS-6??? or not
Shit, shows how much I know . I assumed that all WS6's had the raised wing as opposed to the formulas which had the lip spoiler. That's one of the ways that I usually tell them apart, besides the name on the back of the car .

Well even on some FIrehawk's, they come with teh lip spoiler but the 3rd brake light is much longer.

Re: true WS-6??? or not
My friend has a 1999 Trans Am WS6 with Droptop and lower lip spoiler. The reason the converts got the lower lip spoiler was because the raised spoiler would block the tiny window on the covert.

Not the exact reason, but makes sense either way.
It had to be the lower wing with the vert to be able to get the top up and down.
