Keys shorted out my radioDaGrease 12-04-2006, 11:13 PM Heya, I have a 89 firebird and i recently rested my keys on an exposed side view mirror toggle switch (paint shop lost it). The car was off at the time. There was a spark and when i turned on the car the radio was not working. I was wondering what i could do. If they are all ok then its possible that you blew a capacitor inside the radio. goldz28 12-05-2006, 12:51 AM A little click happy are we? lol Have you checked all your fuses? DaGrease 12-05-2006, 12:56 AM I know where the fuses are but i don't know what to be looking for :P. Aswell, the power unlock for the doors button doesn't work, but when i use my alarm remote to open the doors it works. Thx for any suggestions! goldz28 12-05-2006, 01:15 AM If you have to take each fuse out and see it the metal parts inside are broke or not. You can also put a voltage meter on them to see if current is flowing through them... DaGrease 12-05-2006, 09:58 AM Ok I'll try that, thx goldz28 stepho 12-06-2006, 11:47 PM Here is a picture showing the difference between a good fuse and a bad fuse. http://www.rd.com/images/tfhimport/2003/20030701_Fast_Auto_Fixes_page003img001_size2.jpg Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
