Re: Snowplow on 2wd?
We pushed snow with a 2WD Ford (F250, I think) for a while. It did just fine when the snow wasn't very much/heavy. My policy has always been to plow with the storm. This time, someone elected to let finish falling first. That storm was pretty bad and letting it all come down was just too much. We ended up paying for someone else to come in and clean up. Shortly after that, we dumped the 2WD and got a new 4WD. After using the new truck for 9+ years, I can't say for sure that it would have handled all the snow that retired our 2WD truck. We didn't have anything special for extra weight in the 2WD. We do have a salt spreader on the back, so there is plenty of weight hanging off the back bumper. I wish I could tell you how much it carries, but I just can't remember.
OH! For some reason, we were told not to put a plow on an F150 with an extended cab. There was no rational explanation given, they said something about it voids Ford's warranty or some crap.
