My old 82 T/A

Heres some pics of my T/A. I know its a POS but its mine and i like it so !

Body still needs some work. More upgrades coming. Its getting the 400/400 pontiac engine, I dont give a shit what i got to do to make it fit. I will have it installed as soon as the engine it has now is finished exploding.

Re: My old 82 T/A

Yeah its a piece of shit. Your eyes dont decieve you.

Most of you have a lot nicer cars than mine. Especially when it comes to looks.

Its going on its fourth motor. The tops rattle and leak. The block sounds like somebodys at the door. The drivers seat has a spring or somthing, that stabs you when your not careful. And last time i gave it some shit the transmission sprung a leak. Besides it sits around as a lawn ornament.

Heres what it looked like when i got it.

Nice find huh.

Its just full of potential... Heres the car thats still holding on to its next motor.

A barge on wheels she be!.

But the motor is a torque monster. As bad as it looks this 400 under the hood of the firebird is going to change its life. That should push my 25 year old firebird through the 1/4 pretty dang quick.

Whats cool about that is it will be running next to cars that have had a ton more cash thrown at them.

Re: My old 82 T/A

it was wal-mart or pep boys. I think i saw them at auto zone too.

it was like 10 bucks i think. good investment. I used to keep my dr pepper between myself and the console. I wish i had a better place for it if i have company its in the way. But at least i have somone to hold the cups in the holder.

I was so excited when I got my fourth gen and it had a cup holder... that excitement was short lived though. The cup holder is right behind the shifter and right where i like to put my arm... and being a 6-speed this was a problem.

Yeah so now the drinks are back to between my legs.... but I have a coin holder!

That's a lot nicer than the IROC I had.

When are you going to have it painted?

Re: My old 82 T/A

hopefully it gets painted soon. I plan on painting it with ful-cryl a panel at a time in a make shift booth. I have a fender i might go ahead and replace. I might paint it a lighter color.

Its waiting for paint and i got the body how i want it now but the weather isnt right for painting. The paint catalyst ive already payed enough for will work better if i wait out for some spring weather. Plus it will give me some time to figure out an antenna and do a final touch up and seal it for paint. If i mix it right i will save myself thousands. If i mix it wrong i wasted 300 in materials

After christmas is over with i will flash some cash at the guy who has my 70' judge 4b intake and matching 6x heads. I will pull the cam it has and get a regrind or replace it with one more suited for judge trim. I want that project completed by at least the middle of next summer...Damn thing isnt even in it yet and im already talking about mods..

If gas prices keep going up i might be leaving the 2 barrel on longer than i think. Believe that it mixes more fuel than what it looks like.
