would i shorten the front forks .....
i really have know idea what i should do or where to look or what to look for. i have clip on handle bars sweet tires, now i want to improve th handling?

any info would be great...

How much more handling do you want??? I mean, it's a great bike, but c'mon... it's a GS500 not an R6... I think mine handles just fine minus the aft.mkt. fairing coming loose. Just don't drag your feet in sweepers or you'll end up wearing funny spots in your boots.
