i have a 95 model 2wd rodeo, im looking for a really cheap and do it your self alternative to buying lowering blocks and all the rest... ive heard that the front suspension can be "wound" down lower... does any one no anything on this subject??? please help, greately appreciated. thanx

i don't think you'll get much help on lowereing this truck...not many who own this truck do this sort of thing--we tend to raise them.

you're going to have to cut/weld/ fabricate any kind of safe way to lower this truck. anything else is too dangerous and shouldn't be considered.

having said that--it's not impossible--it can be and has been done. i've seen a fgew pics on here and on the web (google it). it gives the truck an odd look, in my opinion.

I have seen it done my one of the idiots I work with
the reason I use the word idiot is because the Rodeo is a 4x4
wtf do you do with a 4x4 that is 3 inches off of the road
maybe he could install beadlocks and a locker in both diffs the use it to do some speed bump crawling

Well, in his defense, it IS a 4x2 Rodeo - but still, I just hate to see the Rodeo's in any drive, 4x4 or 4x2 lowered. They look goofy.

How 'bout trading it for a Subaru or something that IS lowered? I know that's not the point, but maybe it be cheaper in the long run and less eary then lowering a suspension that's not meant to be lowered.

yeah, agreed that lowering should not happen to a 4x4.

since the torsion bars can be cranked in the front to lift it, it would make sense that it could be un cranked to drop it. not sure what this does though,. i would never do it.

that being said, i think it would be cool to be able to lower and rasie your vehicle to suit the terrain, lower at high speed, jacked to crawl....
