450 Shot of NOS on 69 NOVA
How much do all of you think it would cost to be able to run a 450 shot of NOS on a 69 Chevy NOVA???? Any help would be great... Thanks

about $900 for the NOS fogger system and the motor underneath it to take the 450shot. What exactly do you want to know?

it would take... Millions....
Or at least like Slimy said $900 for the NOS Fogger system, and about $4000 to build the motor to be strong enough to take the shot.
It would need forged steel everything...which adds up quickly.

I am going to build a 377 (400 block/350 Crank). I am going to use a Scat Crank, H-beam Rods, SRP Pistons to give me about 11.5-1 compression. CompXE Cam with .500+ lift. 1.5 rollers on the intake and 1.6 on Exhaust. Sitting on top of World Sportsman II 202I/160E heads. I figure that it will cost a little less than $4k. After I get more money saved up, I am going to take a dual stage 250 or 300 shot of Nitrous on a Direct Port Setup. Not sure on the HP N/A, but I hope for 500hp. Can someone tell me if I am dreaming? I am then hoping for 700+ on Nitrous. I have a friend that has a 1974 Vega, that will have a tube chasis under it when I finish the motor. Hoping for the car to weigh about 2500lb or so! Any one wanna guess what the et/mph would be?

easy 3's i swear it'll embarish the funny cars... easy 3's!
hahaha, it should scoot right along. if your suspension is all dialed in along with the motor making that much power. you should be able to run into the 9's or lower. i've no clue on the trap speed though.
i have a friend who has a 700+ hp All motor big block in his 66 Chevelle. It runs mid 14s in the quarter cause it cant hook up. it does a burn out half way down the track.
the key to low Et's with high horsepower is mass traction, and suspension setup is so important you wouldnt believe.
My 72 when all complete should run into the 13's easy, but with as much torque as im going to be throwing down... 12's will be a challenge with out some suspension mods.

Hello, I am brand new to this board. And I agree with the traction and suspension part. More like weight transfer. I have a 72 Nova that runs consistent 10.50's w/ 370ci small block on alcohol making about 490hp at the wheels. I have moroso springs on the front and Koni spa drag shocks. Aftermarket rear multi leaf springs and Hal QA1 adjustable rear shocks and Competition Engineering slapper bars. Full cae to stiffen the chassis. I only run Hoosier 29 10.5w 15 slicks. Car leaves about a foot in the air with 1.45- 60 fts. It can be done. The only problem is when it hooks it tends to break the weak link (read rear or driveshaft) which are both good aftermarket pieces (mark williams spool and axles). A bad ass motor is cool, but if you can't put the power to the ground...why bother.

Basically...
I've got a '72 Nova myself.. dropping in a 388 fairly soon. Dyno'd the motor at 425hp... should be 360hp at the wheels. Thats fine and dandy for now... But I'm going to drop the Compression in the future 2 points to 8:1 and throw on a ATI Procharger w/ Intercooler and boost it up to about 600hp on pump gas. I dont think it'll ever hook up...
Im looking into Air Lockers... so i can have my traction and driveability as well...
Your setup sounds badass.

WHy not? Traction bars and good weight transfer and it should hook like a champ. Cornering will suffer, but remove the front sway bar to loosen the front end and keep it from binding.

Does that fit into the stock wheel well? I've been looking for somebody with a Nova with Slicks to find out how big of a tire i can stuff in there with out problems... Also... You know how big of a street tire that can be crammed into it with out tubbing?

with stock wheel opening I could only fit 9x30 slicks. I beat the inner wheel well back and installed front fenders on the back. right front fender on left quarter and vice versa. Flop them corner to corner. It raised the lip 2 inches and out 1 inch. Looks like factory until you open the trunk and see the hole for the marker light. I cut them above the body line that runs down the center of the car. As for street tires, the only ones I ever tried were 265 75r15's on corvtte ralleys 15X8 with 4 in backspace.

Wow, that's the first time I've heard of that...that's actually pretty hilarious, but very ingenius. With front fenders in front and front fenders in back, how can you tell which way you're going? . I must say though, that's very creative.
