Here's an interesting one. '98 w/143K. Whenever I make a hard turn, it's very difficult to turn the wheel, like there's something wrong with the power steering. I checked the fluid. It's halfway between "add" and "full". Is this what the problem is, or could it be something involving the belt?
If you can, put the front end off the ground, (jack stands, hoist) and turn the wheel with the engine running and without the engine running. See if you notice any resistance with it running and without it running. Either theres sommthing going on with the steering box, or there is something wrong withthe steering linkage. Dosn't sound like a fluid problem.

if it is one of the issues you mentioned, how much would it run to get it fixed? i just sank a lot of money into a tune up.
Well, if it actually is somthing with the steering box, it could cost a few hundred dollars, if its something with the linkage, its less, it really depends. you have to check it out first, and go from there.
I am having a similar issue, let me know how you make out
