Exclamation 98 Blazer Drivers Power Window Sticking...

Hey Guy's
Has anyone here changed the driver side power window motor on a 95-2004 Blazer? Do I have to remove the window regulator?
Thanks for your help...
Dino

Because it is sticking doesn't mean you have to replace the motor.

Remove the inner door panel and lube the slide assembly and it will fix the problem.

Thank's BLT, I did oil all the slide's today while it was apart, I should have explained myself a lil better. This the second time this has happened to me in a year, The window rolled down fine but never came back up. Almost seems like a dead spot in the window motor. I tapped it once lightly with a hammer and it's back to working normal again(for now). The last time it happened I parked it in the garage and the next morning it worked fine for 11 months. I don't want to press my luck any longer with winter right around the corner.

Re: 98 Blazer Drivers Power Window Sticking...

check the bottom rear rivit that holds the window regulator assembly to the inner door panel, both the drivers and passengers side on my new blazer are popped out. I believe this is what wore out the window motors on my truck, since it puts the whole assembly out of alignment and would put a larger load on the motors.

I'm not looking forward to replacing both of them, but I will probably be replacing all of the rivits with nuts/bolts on all 4 doors when I do so.

You might want to use something better than oil. I should have said that earlier. I would use a light grease to lube them up, oil does last that long.
