1980 z-28 not running rightmandosalinas 11-25-2006, 12:40 AM To start the camaro was brought from a junk yard for$600 just for the body nothing on it or in it the rear end and all the steering components were found from different cars @ junkyards and e-bay. now for the engine it has a 350cid and a powerglide 2 speed transmission the motor has not been rebuit only the tranny. the problem that i have is that i'm running on AV-GAS which is about 112 octane with a 13mL PER MINUTE burn and the car is not responding when i floor it. The street avenger 680cfm carburator is compatible for the use of aviation gasoline according to a representative from the jegs dept. now the car works like a charm as soon it pick up speed but not on the take off. please help on this minor detail. wrightz28 11-28-2006, 03:22 PM Has the ignition system been upgraded to match? Sounds like your just dumping too much gas. mandosalinas 12-02-2006, 01:26 AM well the z-28 when initialy is started white smoke comes out the tail pipe but once it's hot it does not smoke only when it's started. how do i adjust the float and the jets. wrightz28 12-04-2006, 10:15 AM White smoke is normally coolant, however on occasion, when the transmission vacuum modulator goes bad, the ATF is drwan intoo the intake at start up as well. I think you need to adjust your base timing for that gas, which i'm not all that familiar with. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
